Legendary Industrialist Ratan Tata Passes Away at 86
Ratan Tata, the revered chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away at the age of 86 in a Mumbai hospital. On Monday, he had informed the public that he was undergoing routine medical checkups due to age-related conditions.
However, his condition worsened, and he remained in critical care before his passing on Wednesday.
Ratan Tata’s legacy is monumental, having transformed Tata Sons into a global conglomerate during his leadership from 1991 to 2012. Under his vision, Tata Group expanded internationally with notable acquisitions like Tetley, Corus, and Jaguar Land Rover, turning it into a $100 billion empire.
Following the news of his demise, security was heightened at Breach Candy Hospital, where senior officials were informed. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis is expected to visit the hospital.
Condolences poured in from across the nation. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his sorrow, calling Tata a “Titan of the Indian industry.” Anand Mahindra also paid tribute, emphasizing Tata’s influence on India’s economic rise and his selfless dedication to global betterment.
Ratan Tata will be remembered as a visionary who left an indelible mark on the world of business and philanthropy.
