There has been huge spurge on the popularity of a Korean pop music culture boy band, known as Bangtan Sonyeondan, widely called and adored as BTS. A few years ago, Korean music wasn’t even an internationally recognized music genre, it was after 2016 that BTS has established their mark of the journey to help youth through their music and lyrics.
It all started in the year 2013. A small entertainment agency with a limited budget and a group of seven boys with high hopes and dreams. Back then, they indulged in making hip hop music, which was mocked and ridiculed. They were a tremendous rate of hatred and discouragement from the whole Korean industry. J-hope and his parents have strong beliefs and morals that contradict with having piercings. J-hope is the only member with zero piercings while Jungkook of BTS has more than 11 piercings, ranking him with the highest number of piercings among his band members.
BTS composes and produces their own music and lyrics
BTS is one of the only fewer boybands who actually produce their own music and put efforts to compose meaningful lyrics. Most of the BTS songs are interlinked and inspired by books. One of their albums, Wings inspired from the book, Demian written by Hermann Hesse. Other songs like magic shop were drawn from the book Into the Magic Shop, a neurosurgeon's journey into mysteries and human mind and brain. BTS has won many awards, including fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit at the 2018 Korean Popular Culture & Arts Awards. They were the youngest recipients to receive this highly acclaimed award, each age being in between 21 to 25 years.
