New vehicle rules act amendment to be effective from 1 April 2022



The Government of India has implemented the New Motor Vehicle Act 2022 with amendments to the Vehicles Act 2019. The citizens should be aware of the latest Indian Traffic Rules and Fine 2022. With the implementation of the amendment in the previously proposed Motor Vehicle Act, a new set of traffic rules has been imposed on the citizens of India.

The New Motor Vehicle Amendment Act imposes almost double the fine on the faulty driver as assessed by the previous Act. These new traffic rules aim to control the numerous accidents happening on the roads, but in India, the traffic rules are often violated by the drivers. 

Here is New Fines (Challan/ Penalty) List according to the new amendment:

General - 500
Road Regulation violation - 500
Unauthorized use of vehicles without a licence - 5000
Driving without Licence -5000
Driving without qualification - 10,000
Overspeeding - 1000 for LMV and 2000 for medium passenger vehicles
Dangerous Driving - 5000
Drink and Drive - 10,000
Racing - 5000
A vehicle without permits -10,000
Violation of Licence- 25,000 to 1,00,000
Seat Belt - 1000
Not providing a way to emergency vehicles - 10,000
Driving without insurance - 2000
Helmets - 1000
Overloading of two-wheelers - 2000
