Papikondalu Boat Tours Suspended Over Godavari Flood Surge

The Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Department has temporarily halted all boat tours to Papikondalu from Devipatnam due to rising water levels and rapidly increasing flood flows in the Godavari River. The decision prioritizes the safety of tourists amid unsafe river conditions, brought on by recent heavy rainfall.

🌊 Safety Concerns at Peak Season

With water levels escalating to potentially hazardous levels, officials cited the rising currents and emerging flood threats as the key reasons for this preemptive halt. The suspension impacts scores of tourists during a peak-season rush, disrupting travel plans and bookings .

⏳ When Will Tours Resume?

No official reinstatement date has been announced yet. The Water Resources Department has stated that boat rides will only resume once the river levels stabilize and a fresh safety assessment confirms it’s safe. Tourists are urged to postpone plans and stay updated through official channels for the next notification .

📣 Traveler Advisory

Visitors are strongly advised to:

Hold off bookings until official restart is announced.

Monitor AP Water Resources and Tourism Department updates.
