Patra India, in collaboration with the NGO BREDS, donated 48 sewing machines to women in association
The CSR event is an initiative to help people in the midst of the worldwide pandemic. The whole idea is to help the women who lost their livelihood due to the pandemic in Mandi Village, Gajuwaka. Patra, India, donated 48 sewing machines to the needy. The firm spent 3 lakhs on this project, which helped many women to earn a livelihood.
Patra's CSR team attended the event, and their leader, Lakshmi Mukkavilli, the Managing Director of Patra. The motto of Patra is to give back to society through social activities. Last year they supported children's education and hospitals during the COVID crisis. Now they want to help women.
Lakshmi Mukkavilli, while conversing with the group of women gathered for the event, got to know that the women of Mindi Village needed help. So she decided to donate sewing machines as it is an empowering gift. The women of the village showered her Lakshmi Mukkavilli with praises. Patra's team is looking forward to doing more such projects.
The village politician, Gudivada Lateesh, appreciated the excellent work and said that this donation empowers the women in the village. They decided to organize stitching classes for those who don't know how to stitch so that the sewing machines help them earn their living.
