Tension gripped Aganampudi Junction on Tuesday as a large number of locals and supporters of the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance staged a demonstration, demanding the shutdown or relocation of the toll gate.

The protest saw activists halting the collection of toll taxes and allowing vehicles to pass through freely.

They also informed motorists that the toll gate would be completely shut down in the coming days. Police personnel quickly arrived at the scene, urging protestors not to disrupt traffic.

Chanting slogans, the protestors called for the immediate closure of the toll gate. They argued that the toll gate between Anakapalli and Gajuwaka was unfairly burdening locals, especially middle-class residents, with high taxes.

The alliance party leaders had previously promised to relocate the toll gate within a month of assuming power, a promise the protestors are now holding them accountable for.
