Reliance will relaunch Campa Cola of the 70s from this Diwali

Reliance Industries Limited has acquired Pure Group's hit brand Campa Cola for an estimated Rs 22 crore. This acquisition was made since Reliance Retail wants to enter the soft drinks segment. Sosyo, another soft drink brand, has also been acquired by Reliance.
Reliance Retail Ventures, under Isha Ambani, plans to reintroduce soft drinks in Cola, Orange, and Lemon flavors to the market this Diwali.

Pure Drinks Group was the sole manufacturer and distributor of Coca-Cola in India from 1949 to 1977. Coke was asked to leave in 1977. In the absence of foreign competitors, Campa Cola entered the market and quickly became the market leader.

Its business began to decline after foreign players, Pepsi and Coca-Cola, entered the Indian market following the liberalization of the Indian economy by the P.V. Narasimha Rao government in 1991. Following the announcement of Reliance Industries' entry into FMCG and the acquisition of the homegrown soft drink brand Campa, it will now be relaunched in India as a competitor to Pepsi and Coca-Cola.
