Scientists have created the world's first synthetic embryo with a brain, a beating heart, and building blocks
According to the New York Post, scientists from the University of Cambridge have created the world's first synthetic embryo, which consists of a brain, a beating heart, and the building blocks for every organ in the body.
This embryo was created using steam cells rather than eggs or sperm. Three different types of stem cells found in early mammalian development were brought to a stage where they began interacting and mimicking natural processes.
According to the University of Cambridge researchers, this synthetic embryo not only develops the brain and beating heart, but also all of the other body parts.
