The fourth wave of Covid-19 will be less risky, says the President of the Indian National Science Academy during a visit to Visakhapatnam
Chandrima Shaha, the first woman president of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), visited Visakhapatnam to attend INSA's 88th-anniversary general meeting. During the inaugural meeting hosted by the CISR-National Institute of Oceanography Reginal Center, Chandrima Shaha stated that the COVID-19 virus does not like to kill its host during the fourth wave because it would endanger its own existence.
According to this former Director of National Immunology, a COVID-19 fourth wave in India cannot be ruled out, but the virus will be less dangerous than the delta wave. She also stated that there are currently no predictions for any peak, and modeling studies support this.
The INSA president inaugurated the meeting with a clarion call to scientists to evolve collective thinking. The INSA meeting is held in Visakhapatnam for the first time.
