The Reservoirs in Visakhapatnam are 90% Full

Summer has arrived, which usually brings water problems to the city of destiny, but this year will be different because reservoirs in Visakhapatnam are 90% full due to adequate rainfall this year as well as over the past few years. "Like in previous years, there would be no major summer water shortages this year." However, in some areas, additional water tankers may be required, and new borewells or repairs to existing ones should be undertaken to meet the demand. Repairs to water pipelines and tanks are required in some areas to prevent leaks during the summer.

Nearly all of the reservoirs were positioned comfortably and had a storage capacity of about 90%. The Yeleru reservoir supplies nearly half of the city's daily requirement of 40 million gallons of water (MGD) out of a total daily requirement of 80 MGD. The current water level in the Yeleru reservoir is 80.44 metres, with maximum and minimum storage capacities of 86.56 metres and 72.54 metres, respectively. Similarly, Visakhapatnam receives nearly 10 MGD of water from the Thatipudi reservoir. The current water level is 293 feet below the maximum storage level of 297 feet. The reservoir's minimum storage capacity is 251 feet.
Meghadrigedda Reservoir's current water level is 56.4 feet, compared to its maximum storage capacity of 61 feet. The reservoir's minimum storage capacity is 44 feet. Raiwada reservoir has maximum and minimum storage capacities of 114 and 99 metres, respectively. The water level is currently 110.64 metres. Gambheeram Gedda's current storage level is approximately 120 feet, with a maximum storage level of 126 feet. The water level in Mudasarlova Reservoir, which supplies about 1% of certain localities' water needs, is 166.1 feet, compared to its maximum and minimum storage levels of 169 feet and 152 feet, respectively.
