Three Post Office Officials Sentenced to Five Years Imprisonment for Misappropriation



VISAKHAPATNAM: In a significant ruling on Thursday, three postal department officials were sentenced to five years of simple imprisonment by CN Murthy, First Additional Special Judge for CBI Cases in Visakhapatnam.

The officials were found guilty under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Details of the Case:

The officials were accused of misappropriating ₹30,56,429 from 153 Recurring Deposit account holders under the Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana (MPKBY).

The case was thoroughly investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), leading to the conviction.

The court's verdict reflects its firm stance against corruption and the misuse of public funds.
