A cheerful outing at R.K. Beach took a distressing turn as a young teenager disappeared in the waters, while another friend was successfully rescued near the Kali Matha Temple beach area. This unfortunate incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the III Town police station in Vizag on a fateful Thursday.

The missing student has been identified as G. Rahul Kumar, a 17-year-old residing in Yendada, currently in the midst of his Intermediate Second year studies. According to Inspector Korada Rama Rao of the III Town police station, a group of five friends had gathered at R.K. Beach with the intention of enjoying a leisurely swim. Tragically, the strong waves that day proved to be perilous.

Two of the friends, Rahul and D. Harsha, found themselves caught in the fierce undertow. Regrettably, while Harsha was successfully rescued from the treacherous waters, Rahul was swept away by the currents, his whereabouts currently unknown. Harsha, who narrowly escaped the same fate as his friend, has been transported to a local hospital and is currently receiving medical care.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictability and potential dangers that lie within the waves of our beautiful beaches. The search for Rahul Kumar is ongoing, and authorities are working tirelessly to locate and ensure his safety.
