Annaprasadam Facility Returns to Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam: Great News for Devotees!
Visakhapatnam: In a heartwarming turn of events, the 'annaprasadam' facility at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam in Simhachalam is back, bringing joy to countless overnight pilgrims.
This beloved facility, which took a break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has been sorely missed by devotees not just from Andhra Pradesh but also from Odisha, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. During peak seasons like summer and Dasara, the temple witnesses a surge in pilgrim visits, with devotees arriving a day before darshan to fully immerse themselves in their spiritual journey.
The decision to reinstate the annaprasadam facility came after trust board members and the newly-appointed Executive Officer, S Srinivasa Murthy, listened to the concerns of these overnight pilgrims. Understanding the challenges they faced, the EO made a thoughtful decision to reintroduce this much-needed service. "Annaprasadam facility has been resumed as requested by the trust board members and after interacting with the devotees," said Srinivasa Murthy. To enhance devotees' convenience, 200 prasadam meals will be distributed each day.
Adding to this heartwarming tale is the generous gesture of a group of devotees and local realtors, including G Jagdeesh, P Santosh, N Pydiraju, and K Jagdeesh from the Appannapalem area, who donated cooking utensils worth Rs. 1 lakh to support the annadanam (food distribution) service, ensuring that devotees can enjoy their spiritual journey without hunger concerns.
This revival of the annaprasadam service at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam speaks volumes about the temple's commitment to serving devotees from all walks of life. It not only rekindles a cherished tradition but also adds a new chapter to the temple's legacy of compassion and service. Whether you're planning to visit the shrine soon or simply appreciate such acts of kindness, this heartwarming news reminds us of the enduring power of faith and community support.
