Visakha Metro Expands with Four New Corridors to Boost Connectivity
Visakhapatnam is all set to enhance its urban transport with the introduction of the Visakha Metro project, which will operate across four corridors.
1. Corridor 1:
Connecting Visakha Steelstand to Kommadi, this stretch covers 34.40 km with 29 stations, ensuring seamless travel for daily commuters.
2. Corridor 2:
Spanning 5.07 km, this corridor links Gurudwara to Old Post Office with 6 stations along the route.
3. Corridor 3:
A 6.75 km route from Tadichetlapalem to Chinna Waltair, featuring 7 stations, provides an efficient transit option for local travelers.
4. Corridor 4:
Extending from Kommadi to Bhogapuram, this major corridor stretches 30.67 km with 12 stations. Construction of this phase will be initiated at a cost of Rs. 5,734 crores.
In its first phase, the Visakha Metro will prioritize the development of the first three corridors, with an investment of Rs. 11,498 crores.
This strategic expansion aims to make travel more convenient and efficient for the residents of Visakhapatnam.
