In a remarkable feat of efficiency and dedication, the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has achieved a significant milestone in cargo handling.

Within a mere 45 days, the port successfully managed the handling of 10 million metric tonnes (MMTs) of cargo for the financial year 2024-25.

This accomplishment surpasses the previous record set during the last fiscal year, where the same volume was handled in 47 days.

Chairperson of the VPA, M Angamuthu, expressed his appreciation for the team's relentless efforts and emphasized the importance of dedication and efficiency in such endeavors.

He highlighted the substantial progress the port has made in recent times and its ongoing commitment to setting new benchmarks in cargo handling and other operational areas.

Angamuthu further encouraged the team to pursue sustainable goals, setting a target of 90 MMTs of cargo volume for the current financial year.

The commendable achievement was made possible by the diligent work of Traffic Manager G R V Prasada Rao and his team, whose efforts were acknowledged and appreciated.

Notably, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways commended the VPA's performance in meeting key performance indicators, reflecting the port's excellence in its operations.
