Visakhapatnam Steel Plant's Call to Join Nationwide Strike
The Akhila Paksha Karmika Sangham of RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is calling upon all staff and workers to participate in the nationwide industrial strike scheduled for February 16.
This urgent plea comes amidst a collective effort led by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha and Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions.
J. Ramakrishna, representing the AITUC of RINL-VSP, highlights the inclusive nature of the strike, with various segments of society, including workers, farmers, students, women, and intellectuals, standing in solidarity.
Beyond the confines of the steel plant, a diverse coalition is set to join the rural bandh and nationwide industrial strike.
Demands for Change:
Mr. Ramakrishna underscores the pressing demands motivating the strike, including halting the privatization of public sector enterprises, implementing revised wage structures, filling vacant positions, advocating for the merger of RINL with SAIL, abolishing labor codes, and ensuring a minimum wage of ₹26,000 per month.
