In a bold and visionary move, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that Visakhapatnam will be designated as the financial and technological capital of Andhra Pradesh. The announcement marks a major milestone in the city's journey toward becoming a national economic powerhouse.

As part of this transformative initiative, several landmark projects are underway to strengthen Vizag’s infrastructure and innovation ecosystem. Foremost among these is the development of the Bhogapuram International Airport, which is expected to significantly boost international connectivity and trade. Complementing this is the city’s metro rail project, aimed at revolutionizing urban transportation by providing a modern, efficient, and eco-friendly mobility solution.

Another highlight of the plan is the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Excellence Center in collaboration with global giants Google and Tata. This center is poised to make Vizag a key player in emerging technologies, fostering innovation, research, and entrepreneurship.

 

Speaking at the announcement, Chief Minister Naidu emphasized that these developments would not only enhance the city's global standing but also create thousands of new jobs, attract foreign investment, and stimulate long-term economic growth.

Visakhapatnam’s strategic coastal location, skilled workforce, and vibrant industrial base already make it a strong candidate for this transformation. With these new initiatives, the city is set to become the beating heart of Andhra Pradesh’s financial and technological ambitions.
