Vizag-Bhubaneswar Route Introduced for Vande Bharat Express: Last-Minute Change

In a sudden twist of plans, the Indian Railways has decided to inaugurate the Vande Bharat train service from Visakhapatnam to Bhubaneswar instead of its earlier proposed route to Puri in Odisha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off the inaugural run of this train on Tuesday, prompting authorities to swiftly adjust their arrangements for the event.

Initially slated for the Vizag-Puri route, the change in plans has necessitated alterations to banners and flags, ensuring that the commissioning of the train aligns with its new trajectory towards Bhubaneswar.

Alongside the Vande Bharat service to Bhubaneswar, another train connecting Vizag to Secunderabad will also be inaugurated.

Despite preparations being made for the Vizag-Puri route a few days prior, directives from higher authorities prompted the shift to the Vizag-Bhubaneswar route.

The train's schedule indicates a departure from Bhubaneswar at 5:15 am, arriving in Vizag at 11 am, with a return journey departing Vizag at 3:30 pm and reaching Bhubaneswar at 9:30 pm.

Currently, the Indian Railways operates 41 Vande Bharat Express services across states with Broad Gauge (B.G.) electrified networks, spanning 24 states and 256 districts.

An additional ten trains are set to be introduced, expanding the network to cater to the Indian Diaspora.

Waltair Division, which previously received one Vande Bharat train between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad, now welcomes another addition to the same route.

This route has garnered significant patronage, establishing itself as one of the most popular Vande Bharat services in the country.

With the introduction of this new train, connectivity between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad is further enhanced, facilitating seamless travel for passengers between these cities.
