Vizag City Roads Looked Deserted, Contrary to the City's Tourist Spots
Sankranti always has a different vibe when it comes to celebrations. Everyone finds this an opportunity to go back to their native places and villages to celebrate it with near and dear ones. This year is no exception, as most of the citizens left for the villages for this Sankranti. This brought a deserted look to the city roads for the three days, especially on Sunday and Monday.
Most eateries, shops, and businesses were closed on Sankranthi and Kanuma. Shopping malls and theatres operated with limited employees. Overall, the shopping areas and busy roads within the city limits looked deserted and calm.
However, the situation is different when it comes to tourist places and spots, as most people present in the city and tourists from various other places went to RK beach, Kailashgiri, Vuda Park, VMRDA Park, Tenneti Park, Thotlakonda, Rushikonda Beach, Bheemili Beach, and other places. As a part of the Sankranti celebrations, these places were thronged with huge crowds. Hundreds of people flew kites at the beaches on Sunday and Monday as a part of the festival celebrations.
Beginning today, people will begin returning to Vizag, causing increased traffic in the city. By the weekend, life and traffic in Vizag will get back to normal as schools and colleges start opening and all businesses begin operations at full scale.
