Women outnumber men in the Visakhapatnam district Population
Commemorating World Population Day, Andhra University Population Research Centre’s estimated the population. They have put Vizag city’s population at 22.8 lakh.
The projected population of the combined Visakhapatnam district is 46.5 lakh. While the literacy rate is about 67% in the district, there are 1,006 women per every 1,000 men. The average annual growth stands at about 2.34%. India’s population as of July 9 stands at 140.69 crores. According to the population reports, women outnumber men in the Visakhapatnam district. As per the projections, there are 23.19 lakh males and 23.32 lakh females in the combined Visakhapatnam district,” said Prof Muniswamy.
The life expectancy of females in 2026-30 will be 74.6 years, outnumbering their male counterparts by 70.60 years during the same period. The projected decrease in child mortality can be termed as a sustained improvement due to the efforts done in the last several decades.
