YSRCP Says Vizag Is Turning Into a ‘Crime Capital’

YSRCP Visakhapatnam district president K.K. Raju has criticised the State government over what he described as the deteriorating situation in Visakhapatnam. Raju alleged that the city has become a centre for crime, drugs, ganja, illicit liquor and land exploitation. He accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government of neglecting Visakhapatnam while giving greater priority to Amaravati. Raju also raised concerns over alleged drug-linked violence and the availability of narcotic substances in parts of the city. He criticised the government over drinking water shortages and alleged that residents are facing difficulties despite the city’s growing development needs. The YSRCP leader also raised concerns about air pollution and called for stronger monitoring of industrial and port-related activities. He alleged that healthcare services at King George Hospital have also faced difficulties, including reported medicine shortages. Raju further criticised the handling of tribal students at the Marikavalasa Gurukulam and demanded greater attention to their education and welfare. He called for immediate measures to address drinking water, pollution, healthcare, tribal education and drug-related concerns. The allegations were made during a media interaction at the YSRCP office in Visakhapatnam. The claims represent the opposition party’s criticism of the ruling coalition and have not been independently established as facts in the report.
