Thirteen young individuals were hospitalized in Visakhapatnam after experiencing severe vomiting and stomach discomfort, believed to be the result of food poisoning following their meal at a well-known restaurant in Gajuwaka.

Local authorities have taken action against the restaurant in response to the incident.

According to Inspector L. Bhaskar Rao of Gajuwaka police station, the group of friends dined at the restaurant on October 8, consuming chicken biryani and barbeque chicken wings.

The following morning, they suffered from symptoms of food poisoning, prompting their hospitalization.

Nine of the affected individuals have been discharged after receiving treatment, while four others continue to receive medical care as of Tuesday. Fortunately, the condition of the four individuals currently under treatment is reported to be stable.

The restaurant management is facing legal action, with cases registered under IPC sections 269 and 272 by the Gajuwaka police.
