A 22-year-old Vizag medical student who tested negative for monkeypox was discharged
The symptoms of monkeypox were reportedly present in a 22-year-old medical student who was in his fourth year of medicine at Gitam Medical College. The fact that he had lately returned from Hyderabad added fuel to the tension in Visakhapatnam.
Senior doctors from King George Hospital promptly gathered the samples and sent them to the National Institute of Biology just after district health department was informed of the situation.
The district's tension was reduced as the test results came negative. The youngster, who was initially isolated, was discharged today.
