A medical student from Visakhapatnam helped a woman in giving birth on a train
A medical student from the Gitam Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMSR) in Visakhapatnam assisted a woman in giving birth on a moving train. A 28-year-old woman from Srikakulam began experiencing premature labor pains on the Secunderabad-Hyderabad Duronto Express around 3.30 a.m. yesterday. K Swathi, a final-year medical student, rushed to the woman's side and helped her in giving birth when her family members were looking for help.
Throughout the labor, passengers in the compartment greatly helped them and even converted the area into a makeshift delivery room. The mother and her newborn were shifted to NTR Hospital in Anakapalle. The quick response of this medical student and the other passengers saved the lives of the mother and her newborn. The baby's grateful parents have named her Swathi.
Everyone praised Swathi for her prompt response. Despite the fact that it was her first solo delivery, she did it brilliantly. She even stated that she was tense because the placenta did not come out for 45 minutes and felt relieved when the baby came out.
