The CBI court sentenced former MP Kothapalli Geetha to 5 years in prison

Former MP Kothapalli Geetha was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of Rs 100,000 by the CBI court for defrauding Punjab National Bank.
Her husband, Ramakoteswara Rao, MD of Vishwaswara Infrastructure, was also sentenced to two years in prison and an Rs. 100,000 fine. Vishwaswara Infrastructure Pvt Ltd was fined Rs 200,000 by the CBI court.
In June 2015, the CBI filed a charge sheet against Geetha and her husband in the PNB cheating case. They allegedly defrauded the PNB in Hyderabad of Rs 42 crore.
