Ice cream Saraswathi Akka: A bold Vizag woman with a beautiful heart
Jayaraj Gedela went for a ride on yesterday's rainy night to enjoy the weather in Vizag. At around 11:30 p.m., he instead found a lady selling ice cream at the Siripuram Junction near the HP petrol bunk. He struck up a conversation with her while enjoying the ice cream because he was curious about her story. Introducing herself as Saraswathi, she boasts that if you ask any ice cream seller on Beach Road about a lady who sells icecreams, they will immediately mention rowdy girl Saraswathi because she was the only lady selling icecreams on Beach Road until 10 p.m. She then goes to Siripuram Junction and sells there every day until 2 p.m.
When Jayaraj asked if it was scary to be alone at this late hour, she responded boldly that it was at first, but her mother had instilled some courage in her. She was left with Stubbornness after her mother died, which kept her going.
When asked about family support, she stated that assets will have inheritors but debts will not. Her life came to a halt after her mother died, but as an elder and the sole breadwinner in her family, she kept moving forward with the courage instilled in her by her late mother.
What's more fascinating is that she once found a wallet containing Rs. 25,000 in cash. She attempted to pursue the person who dropped it, but he was lost in traffic. Fortunately, she had found his phone number in her wallet. She informed him and gave him the wallet back. What's more surprising is that when the guy offered her 3000 rupees as a gift for her honesty, she politely declined, saying, "You have 25000 cash in your wallet. It shows the emergency in which you are and I don't take any amount for free. I do decor for parties, cake deliveries, and card making, and I take bulk ice cream orders. You can refer me to anyone who needs these services that would help me earn money with my efforts."
This courageous woman with a beautiful heart has also paid off her family's debt of Rs. 8 lakhs by working multiple jobs. If you ever cross Siripuram after 10 p.m., stop by her ice cream vehicle grab an ice cream and tell her you are brave and beautiful. Perhaps we can brighten her day.
