Adani Ports & Sez Limited has opened a new container terminal at Gangavaram port, Visakhapatnam

A new container terminal at Gangavaram port has been opened by Adani Ports & Sez Limited. With its improved efficiency, shorter turnaround times, and reduced logistics costs, this terminal supports the exports of the nearby industrial hubs. It is expected to benefit the cargo business and make the industry's supply chain more seamless. This container terminal also serves as a gateway to Nepal.

Gangavaram port was built as an all-weather, multipurpose facility with a water depth of 21 meters. It can handle fully laden Super Cape-size vessels weighing up to 200,000 DWT. During the fiscal year 2022, it handled 30 MMT of cargo, and it is working towards handling cargo volumes of more than 40 MMT in FY 2023.

Gangavaram port is acquired by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) which now holds an 89.6% stake.
