Air connectivity between Visakhapatnam and New Delhi has received a boost with Akasa Air resuming daily direct flight services on the route from October 25, 2026. The airline’s return gives travellers another option for reaching the national capital from the Visakhapatnam region.
The development was announced by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, who welcomed the airline’s return to the region after a gap of around three years. The service is expected to improve travel convenience for businesspeople, students, tourists, government employees and other passengers travelling between the two cities.
Daily Flight Schedule
Akasa Air is operating daily flights between Delhi and Visakhapatnam. The published schedule is:
-
Delhi to Visakhapatnam: Departs at 5:55 AM and arrives at 8:20 AM.
-
Visakhapatnam to Delhi: Departs at 9:05 AM and arrives at 11:30 AM.
All timings are local. Passengers should confirm their flight number, departure airport and schedule directly with the airline before travelling.
Three Airlines on the Vizag–Delhi Route
With Akasa Air joining the route, three airlines now operate direct services between Visakhapatnam and Delhi. The additional service increases passenger choice and could provide greater flexibility when selecting departure times and fares.
Delhi is an important destination for people from Visakhapatnam and surrounding districts, particularly for business, education, tourism and official work. Direct flights help reduce travel time and remove the need for connecting journeys through other cities.
Boost for Regional Air Connectivity
The launch comes amid efforts to expand air connectivity for North Andhra. The new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram began commercial operations in August 2026, supporting the region’s growing aviation requirements.
GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited has indicated that strengthening connections to major domestic destinations remains an important priority. Additional airline services are expected to support tourism, trade and passenger mobility across the region.
The resumption of Akasa Air’s daily service provides travellers with another direct option between Visakhapatnam and the national capital.
