Amaravati, the capital region of Andhra Pradesh, is steadily progressing towards its vision of becoming a world-class city, according to former Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Rajeev Jain. Speaking at a recent development forum in Vijayawada, Jain highlighted the immense potential of Amaravati as a planned urban center backed by strategic infrastructure and administrative foresight.
He lauded the efforts of state planners and urban development bodies in envisioning Amaravati as a smart, sustainable city. Jain emphasized that despite past setbacks and political hurdles, the city’s core strengths—such as its riverfront location, modern urban design, and focus on green development—position it uniquely to become a global benchmark in urban planning.
"Amaravati is not just a city of the future; it reflects the aspirations of a new India where development meets inclusivity and sustainability," Jain noted. He also called for renewed political will and cooperative federalism to fast-track pending infrastructure projects.
The statement has reignited interest in Amaravati's master plan, with citizens and stakeholders hoping for continuity in its long-term vision. Experts believe that with consistent support, Amaravati can evolve into a vibrant economic and administrative hub.
