"Andhra BJP Leaders Rally Against Substandard Liquor, Seek Urgent Central Government Intervention"
BJP leaders in Andhra Pradesh, led by state unit chief D. Purandheswari, have voiced serious concerns over the quality of liquor in the state. In an effort to address this pressing issue, they have urged the Central Government to conduct surprise inspections at all liquor distilleries in Andhra Pradesh through the Union Health Ministry.
Sagi Viswanath Raju, BJP state general secretary, emphasized the need for stringent quality checks to ensure the production of high-quality and safe liquor with minimal health risks. Raju proposed the replacement of current chemical and synthetic additives with organic alternatives, eliminating cancerous elements harmful to vital organs.
Expressing dismay at the production process, Raju highlighted that despite being the most expensive in the country, liquor in Andhra Pradesh is produced at a mere Rs 20 per liter and sold at exorbitant prices, laden with impurities and toxicity.
Raju submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging the establishment of a central body to verify and enforce stringent quality standards, preventing extensive harm and loss of life. He stressed that many innocent families are suffering due to liquor-related deaths.
