Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Naidu Assumes Office and Signs Key Files

Amaravati: N Chandrababu Naidu, the newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, took charge on Thursday and immediately signed five crucial files, signaling an active start to his tenure.

Key Decisions Signed by CM Naidu
Upon assuming office in his chamber at the state secretariat in Velagapudi, Naidu's first action was to approve a major recruitment drive aimed at filling 16,347 teacher vacancies in government schools across the state. This recruitment will be conducted through the District Selection Committee (DSC).

Reception and Ceremonial Start
Naidu, who was sworn in as CM on Wednesday in Vijayawada, was warmly welcomed by secretariat employees as he entered the premises after a five-year hiatus. He was accompanied by his wife N Bhuvaneswari and was received by Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad and other senior officials, including several cabinet ministers.

Major Legislative and Policy Changes
The second file Naidu signed was to abolish the Andhra Pradesh Land Titling Act, 2022. This act had required landowners to register their properties with government agencies for permanent titles, a process that raised fears among the public about potential land seizures due to unclear titles.

Another significant decision was the enhancement of social security pensions. The pensions were increased from ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 per month, and for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangs), the pension was raised to ₹6,000 per month. This increase will be retroactively effective from April, with July payments including three months of arrears.

Revival of Welfare Initiatives
Naidu also reinstated the Anna Canteens, which provide subsidized meals at ₹5 per plate, ensuring affordable food for the underprivileged. Additionally, he approved a file to conduct a skill census aimed at identifying and enhancing the employable skills of the youth in Andhra Pradesh.

Administrative Focus
Following the signing of these files, Naidu held a meeting with the heads of various departments, principal secretaries, and special secretaries. He emphasized the importance of adhering to rules and regulations and expressed his commitment to streamlining administrative processes in the coming days.

This proactive approach by Chief Minister Naidu underscores his focus on addressing unemployment, enhancing social welfare, and improving governance in Andhra Pradesh.
