In a landmark move to strengthen school-community collaboration, the Government of Andhra Pradesh will organize a statewide mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on July 5, 2025, across more than 61,000 schools. The initiative, under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to involve parents more actively in their children’s education and school progress.
Over 2 crore parents, teachers, and community members are expected to participate in what is being hailed as one of the largest education engagement events in the country. Officials believe this large-scale interaction will foster greater transparency, accountability, and support for both students and educators.
As part of the PTM, schools will discuss academic performance, attendance trends, infrastructure needs, and feedback from both parents and local stakeholders. District education officers and local public representatives are also expected to attend, making this not only a school-level event but a community-level dialogue on education quality and development.
State Education Minister Nara Lokesh stated, “Parent engagement is crucial for a child’s educational success. This initiative will help bridge communication gaps and reinforce trust between schools and families.”
Special arrangements are being made to accommodate large gatherings, including staggered meeting slots and multilingual communication materials to ensure inclusivity across urban and rural regions.
