APCC OBC Chairman Urges Continuous Food Safety Checks Across Andhra Pradesh
Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) OBC Chairman, Mula Venkata Rao, has called for stringent and regular checks on food quality at serving establishments across the state, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding public health.
Speaking to the media, Rao highlighted the recent Tirumala laddu issue, stating that it is "just the tip of the iceberg." He stressed the need for thorough inspections at supply stores, particularly those providing ghee and other ingredients for religious shrines, to ensure food quality standards are maintained.
Rao also raised concerns about prasadam adulteration in Hindu temples, which are government-managed, and urged strict action against those responsible for compromising the sanctity of offerings. He called on Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan to strengthen the state's food safety department and prioritize quality control in food served at shrines.
