Visakhapatnam: Port and dock workers, led by CITU, staged a day-long protest at the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) office on Tuesday, opposing the plan to upgrade the Golden Jubilee Hospital (GJH) through private participation.
The workers demanded that the port fund the hospital's upgradation itself, emphasizing the crucial health services it has provided to employees, pensioners, and their families for decades.
Carrying banners and placards, the protestors voiced their disapproval of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model proposed for the hospital's improvement.
