Around 5,000 to 8,000 Tourists to visit Tribal Areas Daily for Last Moments of Visakhapatnam's Winter

In Visakhapatnam, as winter nears its end, many tourists are heading to tribal areas to experience the final days of cool, foggy mornings and breathtaking sunrises amidst thick clouds.

They are visiting these areas daily to cherish these moments, knowing they won't return until next winter.

While most parts of the state are now warmer, with temperatures ranging from 30 to 35°C, the tribal areas of the ASR district still enjoy cooler mornings, averaging between 12 to 15°C.

Tourists are particularly drawn to places like Vanjangi hills, Lammasingi, Araku Valley, Ananthagiri, and parts of the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB) region in the ASR district.

K Raghunath, a native of Lammasingi, notes that the number of visitors has increased in early February compared to previous weeks, as many feel it's their last chance to witness the beauty of winter.

M Radha, a resident of Vizag city, recalls visiting Vanjangi and Lammasingi on a Sunday morning, dressed warmly, only to shed layers by afternoon. It seems winter is fading even from these tribal pockets.

While mornings remain cool and foggy, the afternoons bring discomfort as temperatures rise. Dr. Sagili Karunasagar, a scientist at IMD- Amaravati, predicts above-normal temperatures for February.

Locals observe that winter is reaching its end, with temperatures expected to rise from mid-February. Tourist numbers are likely to decline by the last week of February.
