Blood Donation Drive and Awareness Initiatives in Visakhapatnam
In an endeavor to foster community involvement, a blood donation camp is scheduled to take place in Visakhapatnam on January 9.
Simultaneously, district-level awareness meetings on January 9, 10, and 18 are planned under the 'Jan Bhagidhari' drive.
These events precede the inauguration of the 125-foot statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Swaraj Maidan in Amaravati on January 19.
District Revenue Officer K. Mohan Kumar announced a series of engaging activities.
A district-level marathon is set to kick off the awareness program, starting from the Ambedkar statue near LIC building to Ambedkar Bhavan near Rama Talkies at 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
Following the marathon, a blood donation camp is slated at Ambedkar Bhavan from 9 a.m.
The venue will also host a district-level photo exhibition and screenings of short films depicting Ambedkar's life history, with awards for the best entries at the state level.
On January 18, significant events include the garlanding of the Ambedkar statue near the LIC building, the formation of a human chain, and oath-taking by people's representatives at 9 a.m.
A seminar at Ambedkar Bhavan at 11 a.m. on the same day will further contribute to the awareness drive.
Expanding the reach of the initiative, blood donation camps are extended to VMRDA Children’s Theatre at Siripuram on January 9 and 10.
A heartfelt appeal goes out to all sections of the community to actively participate in these impactful programs and contribute to the noble cause of blood donation.
