Chandanotsavam Festival at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple: Anticipating Smooth Darshan Experience

The annual festival of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam in Visakhapatnam, known as Chandanotsavam, is scheduled for May 10 this year.

Devotees are eagerly looking forward to a hassle-free darshan experience during the festivities.

Concerns arose following last year's Chandanotsavam due to reported poor arrangements.

Devotees encountered delays and arguments while queuing for darshan, with traffic congestion on the Simhachalam ghat road exacerbating the situation.

This year, however, temple authorities and the endowment department are working diligently to ensure a smoother experience.

The festival typically draws a crowd of at least two lakh devotees from various parts of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) and Odisha.

To alleviate congestion, officials have announced restrictions on politicians entering the sanctum sanctorum due to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

This measure aims to prioritize devotees' darshan experience over VIP visits.

In anticipation of a large turnout, the Vizag city police have devised a comprehensive security and traffic management plan, deploying approximately 2,000 personnel.

This proactive approach seeks to avoid a repeat of last year's criticisms regarding traffic control.

Devotees express hope that officials will uphold fairness, ensuring that no preferential treatment is given to officials' relatives or family members at the expense of devotees' experience.

By addressing past challenges and implementing proactive measures, organizers aim to offer devotees a memorable and spiritually fulfilling Chandanotsavam celebration.
