Changes to Chandanotsavam Protocol: No Antaralaya Darshan This Year

In an unprecedented move, the district authorities and Simhachalam temple management have decided to suspend protocol darshans and antaralaya darshans during this year's Chandanotsavam.

The decision comes in light of both the election code and last year's challenging experience for devotees.

Chandanotsavam, the sacred Nijarupa Darsanam of Lord Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy, is scheduled for May 10, with an estimated influx of around two lakh devotees. However, unlike previous years, there will be no protocol darshans due to election regulations, and antaralaya darshans will also be halted.

Following a recent review of preparations by temple executives and district authorities, it was decided that only the hereditary trustee Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju and select family members, along with temple-nominated trustees, will be permitted antaralaya darshan. Devotees will be restricted to the Neeladri gate within the temple premises.
