Chintapalle in Andhra Pradesh Records Season’s Second-Lowest Temperature at 7.1°C

Chintapalle, a picturesque town in the Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh, recorded the season's second-lowest temperature at a chilling 7.1°C, marking a significant dip in the mercury. Known for its cool climate and lush greenery, the region has become a focal point for cold-weather enthusiasts and researchers alike.

This sudden drop in temperature is attributed to the prevailing cold wave conditions across parts of the Eastern Ghats. Chintapalle, situated at an elevation of over 800 meters, often experiences cooler temperatures than its surrounding areas, making it a hotspot for low-temperature records during the winter months.

Residents of the region have reported foggy mornings and icy winds, adding to the wintry feel. Agricultural activity in the area, which largely depends on the unique climatic conditions, remains unaffected for now, though farmers are closely monitoring the situation. Crops such as coffee, pepper, and horticultural produce thrive in such weather, and the current cold spell could prove beneficial if it does not intensify further.

Tourists have also been drawn to the region, hoping to experience the crisp mountain air and serene environment. However, authorities have urged caution while traveling through hilly terrains, as foggy conditions can reduce visibility.

Chintapalle’s record once again highlights the region’s potential for tourism and agricultural development, with its unique weather patterns serving as a natural asset. As temperatures continue to drop, locals and visitors are bracing for more frosty nights in the coming weeks.
