Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks Saudi Pro League Scoring Record

Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record for the most goals in a single Saudi Pro League season, netting his 34th and 35th goals during Al Nassr's final game.

The 39-year-old Portuguese forward celebrated the achievement by tweeting, "I don't follow the records, the records follow me.

Ronaldo scored in first-half stoppage time and added a header in the 69th minute, leading Al Nassr to a 4-2 victory over Al Ittihad on Monday.

The previous record of 34 goals in a season was held by Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, set during the 2018-19 season.

Despite Ronaldo's impressive performance, Al Nassr finished the season in second place, 14 points behind champions Al Hilal.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022, marking the beginning of a wave of high-profile international players moving to the Saudi league on lucrative contracts.

In addition to his club success, Ronaldo continues to shine on the international stage. He has been named to Portugal's squad for the upcoming European Championship in Germany, his 11th international tournament.

Ronaldo is the most capped player in men's international football with 206 appearances and holds the record for the most international goals, with 128 to his name.
