Fake sellers and buyers pretend to be working in the Indian army, CRPF. They list cars, bikes and other products in OLX at the lowest prices. You should be very careful with such things and should buy the products after you make sure they are authentic.
Customer Care Frauds
Many customers search for customer care numbers of various websites like Amazon, Snapdeal, Flipkart in Google. Cybercriminals take advantage of this and they replace the customer care numbers with their phone numbers, they will ask you for OTP and steal the money from your bank account.
UPI Payment Frauds
Fraudsters will ask you to enter UPI payment PIN in a payment link they send to you. Thus they steal your UPI PIN and the amount in your account will be transferred.
Secret PIN of your bank ATM, Credit Card should not be shared to anyone under any circumstances. Fraudsters call you as bank officers and ask for the above details in your bank account. Your amount will be stolen online. No bank officials will ever call and ask for your account details.
Lottery Scams
Fraudsters send an email, SMS, and WhatsApp to the customers pretending as companies like Coco-Cola, Samsung, BBC. and TV shopping lucky draw and also national and international tv shows like KBC. They make you believe that you won the lottery and they lure you in for million dollars and ask you to deposit some amount in their account. Don't believe in such emails and messages. No lottery company ever gives you a lottery without you buying a ticket.
Job Frauds
Don't be fooled by the job offers you see in emails and paper ads. They conduct fake interviews and ask you to pay the amount for third-party consultancy and VISA. The company that offers you a job will never ask you for money.
Matrimonial Frauds
The fraudster will introduce themselves as NRIs in matrimonial sites like Shaadi.com and their main target will be widows and divorced ladies. They may fraud you with fake accounts. They may lure you with gifts, don't deposit money in their accounts, and get fooled.
