Demobilization Ceremonial Parade Conducted for Armed Reserve Force in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner, Dr. Shankha Brata Bagchi, I.P.S., conducted the Demobilization Ceremonial Parade for the Armed Reserve Force today at the Armed Reserve Ground in the city. As the Chief Guest, the Commissioner inspected the ceremonial parade and addressed the gathering, congratulating all officers and personnel on the occasion of the Annual Demobilization of the Armed Reserve Force. He emphasized the significance of mobilization training, which was being conducted again in 2025 after a gap since 2019. As per police regulations, every district must conduct a 12 to 13-day mobilization training program in January or February each year, and in Visakhapatnam, this year’s training included two days of firing practice at the Greyhounds Firing Range.
The Commissioner highlighted that the training covered physical fitness, yoga, and daily operational drills, ensuring that personnel remained well-prepared for their duties. Specialized training was also provided for Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and Motor Transport Department personnel to enhance their expertise in their respective roles. Stressing the importance of discipline, he urged the officers to avoid any negative remarks in their service records and regularly participate in mobilization training to stay updated on police procedures.
Further, he emphasized that handling weapons requires extreme caution, as negligence could lead to life-threatening consequences. Expressing concern over the increasing cases of heart attacks and brain strokes among police personnel, he urged them to maintain both physical and mental well-being. To safeguard their health, the Commissioner announced that Coronary CT Angiograms would soon be conducted to assess heart attack risks, and those requiring treatment would receive immediate medical care.
The Commissioner also advised the personnel to stay away from bad habits such as online and offline betting and to be cautious of cybercriminal traps. He encouraged officers to report any concerns, including leave approvals or personal issues, directly to him at 7995095799, assuring full support from the department. Additionally, he invited suggestions from the personnel to further improve the facilities in the Armed Reserve Unit and expressed his vision to make Visakhapatnam City’s Armed Reserve Force one of the best in the country. Concluding his speech, he urged everyone to work with integrity, dedication, and enthusiasm, ensuring both their well-being and professional excellence.
