Digi Yatra Launched at Visakhapatnam Airport; APATA Pushes for Aviation Development and Araku Coffee Promotion
The Digi Yatra initiative was officially launched at Visakhapatnam Airport and virtually across eight other airports by the Honorable Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Sri K. Rammohan Naidu. The event saw the presence of Visakhapatnam MP Sri M. Sribharat, MLA-West Sri P.G.V.R. Naidu, along with Airport Advisory Committee members and the Director of Vizag Airport.
During the event, the Andhra Pradesh Air Travelers Association (APATA) submitted a series of requests to the Minister. These included restoring airline services, enabling overnight flight parking, introducing dedicated cargo flights, establishing a Civil Aviation University, and setting up a skill upgrade facility for pilot training. They also emphasized the importance of completing the 12 proposed flyovers between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram.
Additionally, APATA advocated for the promotion of Araku Coffee by proposing the establishment of "Aruku Coffee Outlets" at airports across India to support tribal farmers in the Visakhapatnam Agency.
