Discontent Among Passengers as Old Coaches Replace New Ones on Visakhapatnam-Banaras Biweekly Express
Passengers aboard the Visakhapatnam-Banaras biweekly express on November 29 (Wednesday) were met with disappointment and dismay as they discovered that the brand new coaches initially allocated to the train had been replaced with old, shabby ones.
The disheartened travelers, expecting a comfortable journey on the recently launched service, were instead greeted by worn-out coaches and torn seats.
The Visakhapatnam-Banaras Express, Train 18311, commenced its operations on November 22, promising a biweekly service departing from Visakhapatnam at 4.20 a.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays, and reaching Banaras at 9.25 a.m. the following day.
However, the sudden substitution of modern coaches with older counterparts left passengers questioning the reliability of the railway authorities.
Adding to the passengers' dismay was the absence of a pantry car, further exacerbating their discomfort.
With no onboard catering facilities, travelers were compelled to rely on outside food, available from hawkers at select stations along the route.
This unexpected inconvenience disrupted the travel experience for many who had anticipated a seamless and pleasant journey.
The incident raises concerns about the maintenance and operational efficiency of newly launched services, as passengers voiced their dissatisfaction with the subpar conditions of the coaches.
The railway authorities are urged to address these issues promptly to ensure the smooth and satisfactory functioning of the Visakhapatnam-Banaras Express, maintaining the trust and comfort of passengers who rely on the railway network for their travels.
