District Education Officers asked to be more vigilant

The nodal officers and DEOs across the State were asked to be more vigilant and strictly enforce the no-mobile phone policy in 10th standard examination halls.

The board exams began on Wednesday. The fresh instructions were issued in the wake of the Telugu question paper being out hours after the examination began.

“Some social media channels are reporting about the leak of the 10th class question paper. This information is totally false and mischievous. We came to know that by around 11 am, someone started circulating the photos of the 10th Class question paper, taken in an  exam centre.

Since the exam started at 9.30 am, it cannot be called a leak. It is clearly a mischief created by someone,” said a senior government official.

The Education Department officials identified the exam centre in question as ZPHS Ankireddy Palli, Kolimagundla Mandal, Nandyal district. Action was also taken to identify the person responsible and arrest him. Strict action will be taken against the chief supervisor and invigilator, government sources said.

“In the light of this incident, all nodal officers, RJDs and DEOs are directed to be more vigilant and strictly enforce the ‘no mobile phone in the exam centre’ rule.

All staff on duty should give their phones to the Chief Supervisor, who should be held responsible and strict action taken if any deviation is noticed,” said a senior official of the State Education Department.
