Eco-Friendly Success: GVMC Removes 3 Tonnes of Waste in Rushikonda Beach Cleanup



In a significant stride for the 'Eco Vizag' initiative, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), in collaboration with the scuba diving organization 'Platypus Escapes,' has effectively cleared approximately three tonnes of plastic and cloth waste from Rushikonda beach.

GVMC Commissioner C.M. Saikanth Varma expressed gratitude towards the scuba diving organization for their commendable efforts. 


He emphasized the corporation's commitment to extending this cleanup drive to other beaches, including Sagar Nagar, Yarada, Mangamaripeta, and more.

Present during this eco-friendly endeavor were D. Lakshmi, the Nodal Officer for Eco Vizag and Project Director of Urban Community Development (UCD), Chief Medical Officer Naresh Kumar, and other officials.

This collective action reflects the community's dedication to preserving the natural beauty of Visakhapatnam's coastline through responsible waste management.
