Elaborate arrangements for Covid-19 vaccination at Railway Hospital

Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has already launched the COVID-19 vaccination at its Divisional Hospital for its frontline staff viz. health care personnel, security personnel (RPF), loco pilots, guards, etc as well as retired employees. Till 3rd April, altogether 2500 doses of the vaccine have been administered at Divisional Railway Hospital, Visakhapatnam.

It has further been decided that with effect from 1stApril, 2021, employees above 45 years of age will be vaccinated. Special arrangements with appropriate COVID-19 health precautions have been made to tackle the anticipated rush. Employees can register themselves at the Cowin Portal (www.cowin.gov.in) and report to convenient centre.

There is a positive response from the beneficiaries/employees for vaccination. All the recipients of the vaccine are being strictly monitored in accordance with COVID-19 health protocols. After vaccination, all are being observed for considerable period of time for any adverse reaction. Even after vaccination, employees are being advised to maintain Covid appropriate behaviour i.e wearing mask, frequent hand washing and maintenance of social distancing/avoidance of crowded places.

These sessions of vaccination are being carried out as per guidelines issued by the Government of India and even non-railway frontline workers are also being vaccinated at the COVID-19 vaccination centre, Divisional Railway Hospital, Visakhapatnam.
