Empowering Chemical Engineers: Two-Day Workshop Unveils the Realm of Artificial Intelligence in Visakhapatnam



A stimulating two-day national workshop, themed 'Artificial Intelligence for Chemical Engineers,' kicked off on Friday in Visakhapatnam.

Organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering at ANITS, in collaboration with ANITS students, the event delved into the significant role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the realm of chemical engineering.

Professor K.V. Ramesh, from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Andhra University, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the pivotal role of AI in enhancing process safety, optimization, and overall plant performance in the field of chemical engineering.


Professor B. Srinivas, hailing from the Department of Chemical Engineering at GVP College of Engineering, conducted an insightful hands-on training session covering linear regression and polynomial regression for a batch reactor.

Additionally, he shed light on image analysis techniques applied in medical diagnosis.

R. Srikanth, the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at ANITS, stressed the importance of students embracing new technologies and upskilling to seize better opportunities.

Faculty Coordinator Ch. Anil provided a comprehensive overview of the workshop.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from students, including S. Harika, K. China Malakondaiah, M. Koteswara Rao, D. Anjali, and B. Pradeep Santosh Kumar, showcasing a shared commitment to advancing knowledge in the dynamic field of artificial intelligence for chemical engineers.
