"Eye Donation Awareness Rally in Visakhapatnam Promotes the Gift of Sight"

In a concerted effort to bolster awareness about the invaluable act of eye donation, Sankar Foundation orchestrated a spirited rally in Visakhapatnam.

With rallying cries like 'donate eyes, save life' and 'eye never dies, donate eyes,' the dedicated employees of the foundation enthusiastically participated in this eye-opening event.

The rally commenced at the eye hospital located in Naiduthota, traversed through Vepagunta, and concluded back at the hospital.

This initiative aligns with the ongoing National Eye Donation Fortnight, a campaign championed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, extending until September 8.

The fortnight serves as a platform to amplify awareness regarding the significance of eye donation and encourages individuals to pledge their eyes for the noble cause. Furthermore, it seeks to address the critical shortage of corneas available for transplantation.

Leading the charge in this rally was Dr. Nasrina, the Director and Head of the Cornea Department at Sankar Foundation.

Alongside her, hospital doctors, a multitude of dedicated employees, and students all lent their enthusiastic support, collectively emphasizing the importance of giving the gift of sight through eye donation.
