Generosity or Prank? Man with Rs 22 in Account Leaves 100 Crore Rupees Cheque at Simhachalam Temple

Visakhapatnam, August 23, 2023: In a surprising turn of events, a peculiar incident unfolded at the Simhachalam temple in Visakhapatnam.

On this day, the temple authorities stumbled upon a staggering cheque worth Rs 100 crores inside the temple's Hundi, sparking bewilderment and curiosity.

Upon discovering the unusually large cheque nestled within the donation box, the temple officials were taken aback. The sheer magnitude of the amount written on the cheque raised eyebrows and left the authorities astonished.

Swiftly, the temple administration dispatched the cheque to the affiliated bank branch for careful examination and validation. Astonishingly, the account associated with the cheque contained a meager balance of only Rs 22.

The name inscribed on the cheque, Boddepalli Radhakrishna, posed an enigmatic puzzle, as his identity remained shrouded in mystery.

Addressing the situation, the Executive Officer of the temple clarified that this was not the first instance of encountering such high-value cheques within the donation box, only to later ascertain that they were elaborate pranks.

When questioned about potential repercussions for the individual responsible, the Executive Officer conveyed that no punitive measures would be taken, as the intention was perceived as a donation.

The visuals of the 100 crore rupees cheque presented to the Simhachalam Temple quickly gained traction across various social media platforms and local WhatsApp groups in Visakhapatnam.

While a faction denounced the act as disrespect towards the divine, branding it as blasphemy, others held divergent perspectives, deeming it the antics of an eccentric individual.
